The Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Accounting conference, the most important international conference in critical accounting studies, was held in June this year in Stockholm. CAS was represented by a significant delegation of eight, which presented or discussed seven papers.
In the Emerging Scholars’ Colloquium preceding the main conference, four of our students presented their ongoing doctoral projects. James Dunn, then finishing his third year, presented the findings of his work on the multiple logics embedded in accounting mediating instruments. Mo Yan, also finishing her third year, presented her research on performance management and budgeting in public sector organisations. Marian Gatzweiler, finishing his second year, discussed his ongoing study of evaluation measurement systems in the context of humanitarian aid. Shaul Hayoun, finishing his first year, discussed his developing enquiry towards ‘Accounting Semiotics’. All four received productive feedback from leading members of the IPA community.
Soon after the conference, it was also announced that the next IPA conference will take place here at the University of Edinburgh!
