Congratulations to Mr Matteo Ronzani, PhD student and member of the Centre for Accounting and Society, on being awarded a grant by ESRC to undertake a knowledge exchange work placement. The research will be undertaken during Ronzani’s placement under the supervision of Prof Paolo Quattrone. It will investigate how it is possible to conceptualise and operationalise design principles of visual representations that embrace the ambiguity and incompleteness inherent to complex systems, in the context of the management of large infrastructure projects. The secondment is with Arcadis and will unfold according to 3 different stages of data collection and analysis.
The empirical settings of this project are the construction of T2 in Manchester Airport and the realisation of the new Jaguar-Land Rover (JLR) production plant. The Manchester Airport Transformation Programme (MANTP) is a £1bn infrastructure development programme of 60 projects over ten years to provide additional capacity through taxiways, stands, piers and terminal infrastructure together with new technology, systems and processes. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) are developing a multibillion pound capital programme to significantly accelerate growth of the business.
The placement will offer great insights and opportunities for Ronzani to enhance his research abilities and create impactful research outputs. All the best!
