Yi Ling Ong will be using ethnography on review websites and interviews. She stated: “my research will examine contemporary notions of expertise, trust and accountability as shaped by social media, their relationship with calculative regimes, and the social and organisational implications of online accountability. I am broadly interested in linkages between accounting practices and everyday activities, and the ideology of accountability”. Yi Ling Ong is a recipient of the CAS scholarship and will be working with Professors Ingrid Jeacle and Stephen Walker.

Matteo Ronzani is a recipient of the Principal’s Career Development PhD Scholarship, and is supervised by Professor Paolo Quattrone. Matteo’s research is focused on the topic of accounting as a design-oriented practice. He’s stated: “I am investigating the connections existing between accounting as a ‘science of the artificial’ and other practices of signification, representation, and visualisation. I am interested how these practices can inform a design approach to accounting”. Matteo will explore these multidisciplinary issues through empirical research in the area of Major Programme Management.
