Congratulations to Paolo Quattrone who is working with colleagues from the School of Engineering on a project 'Identifying and realising project benefits', which is being led by Professor Terry Williams at the University of Hull.
'Identifying and realising project benefits' is a planned programme of work funded by the Project Management Institute (PMI) with $75,000 for an eight-month project involving four universities: Edinburgh, Hull, Cranfield and Manchester.
The aim of the programme is to look at the approach and frameworks to identify and estimate benefits and value in public projects, following through the lifecycle to benefits realisation.
The first phase will look at the official methods that are currently in place (namely the 'espoused' methods), and investigate eight countries or supra-national bodies, to compare their methodologies. Paolo will be researching how benefits are identified and estimated in the USA and Canada as well as contributing to the literature survey and has been involved with structuring the project from inception. Paolo will be supported by Phd student Jason Valette.
